Eduardo Zimmer is an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil, where he also established his research lab at the Department of Pharmacology (ZimmerLab). Dr. Zimmer holds the position of Adjunct Professor at McGill University in Canada, and has received numerous prestigious awards, including recognition for the Best Brazilian Ph.D. thesis in 2016 and the “One-to-Watch” award from the Alzheimer’s Association (USA) in 2021. Moreover, he was nominated for membership in the Brazilian Academy of Sciences in 2019 and received a grant from the Instituto Serrapilheira in 2020. His research lab is dedicated to unraveling the cellular underpinnings of Alzheimer’s disease, with a specific focus on astrocytes.
